Only 3 days left, before I move up to camp. And even though I know I'll be back in September, it still feels like I'm saying goodbye to everyone, and everything. I've only been in Chicago for eight months--it feels way too soon to be leaving. And way too soon for camp--so many things I wish I had time to do.
This weekend was my "last" Shabbas in Lakeview, and then my "last" night out on the town. Yael, Jo & I went to this awesome Hookah Bar,
Sigara . Sitting on pillows on the floor in these little tent-like structures, with fun music, belly dancers, hookah, and yummy drinks--amazing. One slightly sketchy permanent frat boy, some kid who works for
SAE, who didn't seem to get the memo that we weren't interested, but otherwise some fun people. I'm gonna have to head back there when I get home... (hey, look at me calling Chicago home!)
Yesterday was day-o-packing/cleaning. So first take a moment to be impressed that I've started packing prior to 3 am on the day I'm supposed to leave--quite a change, right? Now take back how impressed you are, since there's still tons to do, and no idea when I'll have time to do it...
I took my car into the shop on Friday, to make sure things are working before I drive it up to camp, and they just called me to tell me what they found... Over
$1400 of repairs!!! Oh man,
sooo not what I was hoping for... Slash it would have been nice to have a car to run errands to get ready for camp, which clearly can't happen now.
Okay, off to more camp schedule craziness with Francie. Seriously, you have know idea how insanely difficult this is, unless you're Jenny Farber, in which case you clearly do...but for the rest of you, let's just say it's basically impossible... Fun, right?
