My opinions, updates on my life, all sorts of "randomness"...

It's 1 a.m., and after hours of packing, all the food is finally packed for my hiking trip... I'm definitely excited about this trip, but it has also become a huge pain in the butt. My "kids" (16/17-year-olds don't really qualify as kids anymore, but still) are being ridiculously frustrating, complaining about the hiking every 2 seconds. Total, over three days, we'll be hiking under 4 miles. Get over it!!! One of them seriously pulled out the "but we pay to come to camp" card. I looked at her, shook my head, and told her that line didn't even deserve a response.

This is a leadership program, people. A C.I.T. (Counselor-In-Training) program. They can handle a 3 day hiking trip where we barely hike and have bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers. Man...

You would think with only 5 campers this session would be a piece of cake, but I'm burning out, ready for a day off (and no time to actually take one!).

And on top of everything else, the packs I ordered never came. Found 2 packs I could borrow from people here, but when I tried calling Camp Moshava (another Jewish camp, 15 miles away), to borrow or rent 3 packs, they refused. So we leave in the morning and we're still 3 packs short. 2 packs short if I borrow a pack from a staff who doesn't want kids to use their pack, and let a camper use my pack. Anyone who knows me and my pack, knows how tough a request that is for me...

So we'll see what happens. I'm going to attempt to stop stressing, long enough to get some sleep...
