I always forget how time consuming camp craziness can be. I went swimming with some kids yesterday at about 3, and didn't get a chance to change until 2 am... I haven't done laundry in so long that there's a good chance I'm going to have to start walking around naked for lack of clean clothing...A lens popped out of my glasses 3 days ago but I don't have time to fix them so when my contacts aren't in I've been walking around with glasses with only one lens in them...And I need a nap so badly I'm not really sure what to do about it.
Gotta love it!
Mazel Tov to Sara Rubinoff on her engagement to Chaim Rothschild!Sara and I lived together at U of M for a couple years, amazing girl, sooo exciting.
And another Mazel Tov:
Mazel Tov to Brad Cherny on his engagement to Becky Staiman!I know Brad from
ASBI, another amazing guy.
And another:
Happy B-day to Yael!!And one I missed from yesterday:
Happy B-day to Katz!!And on top of the Mazel Tovs, Shabbas is coming! And on top of
that campers come on Sunday. Gotta love it...
So here I am, up in
Lake Delton at
Camp Chi for the summer. I moved up a little over a week ago, and so far it's been pretty fun. Lots of work, but fun. Memorial Day weekend was spent working our "Family Vacation" at
Perlstein (btw, by "family vacation" I mean what most other places would call "family camp"). Worked on the ropes course with Drew (who supervised the course last summer) and CJ (whose supervising the course this summer). Tons of fun, nice being in a harness again, and met some awesome people...
The week was spent getting ready for camp. More work on the schedule, physically setting up camp, planning supervisory and staff weeks... Francie and my office, the Machsan, is looking awesome, with brand new paneling on the walls, program computers for staff, and a conference table--I'm definitely digging it.
Went back to the city for Shavuot. Rachel & Will were at Rachel's parents' in Evanston, so I even got to stay in my apartment. Kinda weird to see their stuff there, even though I'm so appreciative that they're subletting. Thursday night dinner with Jo, attempting to stay up for the
Tikun Leil Shavuot at
Temple Shalom (but failed miserably), Shabbas dinner at Marty's, walked down to
North Avenue Beach with Drew on Saturday, a dairy
Seduah Shlishit at
Anshe Shalom on Shabbas, then back up to Chi late last night... All in all a wonderful Shavuot, complete with perfect weather. Made me a little sad to not be in the city this summer though...but then the Supervisors came up today and they're such a great group that I'm actually getting excited.
So that's my update for now. Now that my internet is working, I'll try to be better at posting!
