Attempting to run a pseudo-backcountry trip at a camp that uses styrofoam bowls on camping trips is turning out to have been a bit ambitious of me... And now after less than three hours of sleep, let's see if I pulled it off at all...
Read an awesome book over
Shavuot.
Into the Wild, by Jon Krakauer. Wow. I'm still processing it, but I definitely recommend it. Truly an amazing story.
Staff week has been going really well. Some great staff, especially mine! It really makes me excited for the kids to get here, so I can see how everything plays out. And I finally booked a plane ticket for Rachel & Avi's wedding--nothing like waiting 'till the last minute, right?
All in all, things are good. I love how much easier it gets to train staff, the more times I've done it...a great feeling.
Staff are showing up at camp now. It's crazy hot out, and all I want to do is to go jump in the lake...
sigh
Been at camp for a couple days now. So far, things are pretty good. We have an amazing group of supervisors, which makes things pretty chill. The staff come up on Sunday, just in time for
Shavuot. It crazy how late the holidays are this year--Shavuot's during camp, and
Tisha B'Av's not!
Check out this article:
Zimbabwe's President Denies He's Dead"HARARE, Zimbabwe - Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe denied rumors that he died of heart failure last week, the official Herald newspaper reported on Tuesday."
lol...Gotta love it.
Feels a little odd to be blogging, since earlier today we were discussing this crazy "cyber-bullying" that happened at another camp via blogs. It's kinda crazy some of the things that "kids today" think are okay to say (or type)... I feel like they've lost so much of their innocence, and I'm not entirely sure how to bring it back.
Well, I'm going to head off to bed, but in case any of you want to write me while I'm at camp, my address is:

Such a great Shabbas. I made dinner on Friday night for what I think will be my last time in Ann Arbor. Then after dinner, Sam Woll & I had a full on sleepover party (we're talking pajamas & lying in bed talking until crazy hours about boys). Shabbas day I had lunch over at Rachel & Will's, with Jenny & Brian, and then P.A. & Kevin came over to my place. It was lots of catching up slash saying goodbye...
And now I'm supposedly cleaning my room slash packing (for camp as well as my hypothetical move to Chicago), but really I'm watching this cheesy camp movie,
Happy Campers. Productive, right?
Getting ready for my last Shabbat in Ann Arbor.
Man. Not exactly ready, but here goes nothing... Shabbat Shalom!
